Pre-production inspection (PPI)
The PPI is a quality control inspection conducted at the beginning of the manufacturing process.
Who it’s for: This inspection is for clients who want to maintain complete control over the production line and to engage in close supervision of the project’s progress. Any client who has a complex and expensive product (such as specialized high end products that are not mass produced) will want to conduct a PPI.
How it’s done: After consulting with a MyCom engineer, an inspector meets with a factory representative to discuss production methods. The inspector makes sure that the supplier is ready to begin production. The inspector will document the supplier’s capabilities based on raw materials, work force, machinery, tools, technical drawings and schedule. MyCom engineers will then review the problematic issues and develop a strategy to resolve them.
Why it’s important: This inspection enables us to make sure the supplier can meet the production timeline and to set specific checkpoints for further inspections. The review from our dedicated engineering team will highlight any flaws and add value to your project, giving you the most efficient results.
